I packed for two days ready to visit Victoria for the first time and blog all the way there and back.
The trip across the Straight of Georgia had me a bit exited since I thought the orca whales were coming to welcome me. I didn't see one, but some sea otters and lots of seagulls saluted the crossing.
The Songhees grounds were a forced stop on the way to Spinnakers for dinner. Once there,I ordered the Pacora Burger and didn't disappoint. The Fisherman's wharf is a real treat and picture-perfect.
The Art Gallery was an eye-opening experience since the works by the great Emily Carr were brilliantly displayed and the exhibit on Japanese Samurai gear was also great. I also visited Antique row and some thrift stores on Yates street.
The curry fest at the Empress is worth trying and the setting is out of India. To help digestion, a walk through the Legislative Assembly and the Royal BC museum on the way to Emily Carr's house made the afternoon more pleasant.
For dinner, I chose to visit John's Place for homemade comfort foods and an early bed time to enjoy the hotel for one last royal sleep.
This morning I rushed out to catch the early ferry back to make the Winter Farmers' Market, but it did not happened as planned. The rain started as I made it back home and I am still getting over the trip.
Sounds like a great trip. Nicely described. Thanks!
