Funny that...the most dramatic moment in my life. The political cartoons I researched for the project held many surprises. I began to think that all that had happened to me over the previous few years was pale in comparison to the world woes. Pearson, as proper and dapper as a PM could be in those days was a great fan of James Thurber and off I went into their histories via cartoons of the era.
It still hangs wherever I live to remind me of the moment: Thurbers cartoon of three frames depicting 'the worst moment in my life' shows an indivduals angst at his mothers death; then his divorce; the third frame one where the individual looks at the viewer and the caption "This is the worst moment of my life" for me said it all.
